Quatuor Cambini-Paris

Six years ago the Quatuor Cambini from Paris gave its brilliant debut in the Augustusburg Palace. Now they are finally returning. Without a doubt, they count among the best string quartets in the world playing on historical instruments. Although bringing forgotten repertoires once more to life is one of the quartet’s specialties, this time the four musicians are bringing us especially meaningful works from the great First Viennese School: a quartet each from Haydn and Mozart, both dedicated to Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia, and one from Beethoven, which he composed for the Russian Ambassador in Vienna. Music from the all-time greats for the greats of their time.

JOSEPH HAYDN (1732–1809)

WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART (1756–1791)

›1. Preußisches Quartett: Das Veilchen‹
