La Compagnia del Madrigale

Six vocalists – three women and three men – comprise the small, refined ensemble La Compagna del Madrigale. Their recordings have earned them numerous accolades, like the German Record Critics’ Award, and several times the Diaposon d’Or. With nuanced feeling they follow the traces of the madrigals, the multivocal song form of the renaissance and early baroque, mostly addressing secular themes. The expressive madrigal work of the colorful Italian prince and composer Carlo Gesualdo in particular has had its timeless fascination preserved up to the present. In their richly diverse program, the Italian artists present these and other jewels from the world of the madrigals.
