Bezuidenhout a second time

Kristian Bezuidenhout (fortepiano)

Kristian Bezuidenhout, the Artist-in-residence at the Haydn-Festival within the scope of the 2017 Brühler Schlosskonzerte, has been an avid admirer of Mozart since he was a child. He freely admits that the hit film “Amadeus” was the initial spark for his fascination with Mozart. For his solo performance at Schloss Augustusburg, Mozart’s weighty Sonata in B major KV 333 will be in the spotlight alongside Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Joseph Haydn. Two rondos by Bach’s son from his collection for fortepiano “für Kenner und Liebhaber“ (“For connoisseurs and music lovers,“ 1779-1787) will border Haydn’s “symphonic“ Sonata in C minor from 1771 and the Sonata in G minor from the 1780s – an “exciting combination“, in the words of Kristian Bezuidenhout.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714–1788)
Rondo in C minor Wq 59 No. 4 for piano from “For connoisseurs and music lovers“

Joseph Haydn (1732–1809)
Piano Sonata in C minor Hob. XVI:20

Piano Sonata in G minor Hob. XVI:44

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788)
Rondo in E minor Wq 61 No. 1 for piano from “For connoisseurs and music lovers“
